Production Chef

Location:  Luton, LU1

Pay Rate:   £15.00 per hour

Hours of work:    06:30  –  16:30  Monday to Thursday,

06.30 – 12:00     Friday and Sunday.

Long term temporary role

Our prestigious client in Luton, a high quality meat and food producer is looking for a Production Chef to join their team.

As the Production Chef you will work with centrally developed, standardised recipes and menus,  producing meals in high volumes. You will be methodical, organised, work accurately, with high levels of attention to detail.

Duties will include:

• Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes
• Ensure all shop orders are received at the beginning of each week
• Order Ingredients from external suppliers and from the warehouse
• Allocate kitchen tasks and manage a team of 8 staff
• Ensure all products are being made to recipe and are quality checked.
• Ensure all Kosher standards are adhered to by all staff including turning on the ovens and fryers.

• Fully complete HACCP paperwork and record any relevant information as required
• Make sure a weekly deep clean of all equipment and rooms is carried out.
• Ensure efficiency in the work you carry out, keeping organised and maintaining high standards of production.

You will have the following skills and experience:

• Previously worked in a kitchen producing high volumes of prepared meals
• A mature outlook
• Be able to effectively handle pressure
• Quality driven
• Excellent Organisational skills
• A friendly and approachable manner with excellent communication skills
• Allergens and the legal requirements regarding them
• Relevant industry specific regulations, legislation, and procedures regarding food safety, HACCP, health and safety appropriate to organisations.
• Understand the importance of following legislation and the completion of legal documentation.
