HR Officer – 12-Month Maternity Cover

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 pa

Hours/days: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (37.5hrs)

This is an ongoing temporary role to cover maternity leave

Total Recruit is looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused HR Officer to join our clients friendly People Team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Working closely with our Chief People Officer, you’ll support colleagues and managers across the business, gain exposure to the full employee lifecycle and play a key role in delivering an excellent employee experience.

Duties:

· Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and documentation.

· Coordinating recruitment administration, pre-employment checks and onboarding.

· Supporting employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases.

· Responding to first-line HR queries and supporting managers.

· Monitoring probation reviews, training compliance and employee development.

· Assisting with payroll administration, HR reporting and improvement projects.

Skills and Attributes:

· CIPD Level 5 qualified or actively working towards Level 5 (you must have started the qualification).

· Recent experience in a generalist HR role.

· Experience using HR systems, such as People First or iTrent.

· Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and excellent communication.

· A professional, approachable manner and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Desirable: Employment law knowledge, employee relations experience and a full UK driving licence.
