Technical Product Manager—Satellite Communications

Location:  Redhill, Surrey

Salary: £40K

Full Time Permanent Role  –   40 hours per week, Monday  –  Friday

Total Recruit are delighted to be recruiting for a key position on behalf of a fantastic client based in Redhill, Surrey.

This role is to act as the technical product subject matter expert for Starlink, Oneweb, Cobham, Iridium, Inmarsat and other manufacturers and satellite operators as required to ensure that the sales teams and other company departments across the Group are kept up to date with all current and future services and market offerings. 

Key Tasks:

  • Ability to produce or translate technical content into customer/ benefits led output including for white papers, brochures, application notes, user guides, technical service updates and input for press releases etc. (working with the Marketing and Communications Manager who has responsibility for external messaging)
  • To assist with defining the go-to market strategy, helping the Head of Product and Marketing and Commercial Product Manager to understand the technical product positioning, key benefits, and target customers
  • In liaison with the Marketing department ensure suitable and up to date marketing and sales collateral, user guides, FAQ’s and sales benefits and fact sheets
  • In liaison with the Marketing department assist in the product marketing launch of new products and services incorporating marketing literature, sales presentations, FAQ’s, User Guides, Internal process documents, terms and conditions and sales benefits and fact sheets.
  • Project Management of in-house projects
  • Product competitor analysis and comparison. Production of collateral to be used for internal and external purposes

Experience/Skills/Qualifications :

  • Technical Product Management experience is essential
  • Strong knowledge of IP networking
  • Mobile Satcoms, communications or technology experience
  • Used to managing hardware suppliers and assessing new and existing product capabilities
  • Project Management experience
  • Intermediate level or above with Word/Powerpoint/Excel
  • Must be organised, methodical and a good multi-tasker
  • This job will require occasional travel

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with modern digital satellite communications & IT systems
  • Knowledge of VSAT networks and infrastructure
  • Exposure to operating systems (Linux, Windows)
