Salary: From £44,382—£48,632 depending on Experience
Continental Shift pattern of 12 hour shifts, 2 days on, 2 nights on and 4 days off
Total Recruit are delighted to be recruiting for a key permanent position on behalf of a fantastic client based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will monitor, maintain and repair electrical components of production machinery. Working both proactively and reactively to minimise downtime and maximise efficient working time.
· General maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimum downtime.
· Communicate details of unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance Lead and the reasons, with solutions offered.
· Participate in trouble shooting and problem resolutions.
· Maintain Regular communication talks with the machine foreman and other team leaders to discuss any relevant issues.
· Carry out routine maintenance schedules to the maintenance schedule plan PPM (preventative planning maintenance).
· Regularly check the computer SFOL (shop floor on-line) to ensure current machines are all running.
· Prioritise production stoppages over daily duties.
· Installation work where required.
· Installation and servicing of new machinery.
· Identify improvements that can be made to production lines, individual machinery or other operations and ensure these improvements are communicated to the relevant team.
· Ensure relevant administration is completed for all work undertaken.
· Ensure knowledge is kept up to date for all areas of the role.
· Carrying out electrical tests and diagnostic checks.
· A time served Electrical engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering including at least 17th Edition.
· Excellent problem analysis, PLC fault finding and ability to read schematic diagrams.
· Excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical control systems.
· Fast and accurate fault-finding ability.
· Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferable but not essential.
· Possess an excellent understanding and commitment to safe working practices.
· Good organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Identify maintenance improvement opportunities and develop action plan to deliver.
· The use of a Computerised maintenance management system, (CMMS), to manage daily work activities.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment
