Total Recruit are working alongside their prestigious new client who are based in Ossett, we are looking for experienced pipe welders to work on diverse projects nationwide, this role is suited to experienced welders who enjoy technical challenges and take pride in delivering work to the highest standards. The position involves both workshop and site work, including projects of varying duration. Weekend work and overtime may be required.
The Role
Welding to ASME and EN standards on carbon steel and stainless-steel materials for pressure piping, pressure vessels, tank headers and spool fabrications in all positions. Welding processes will primarily include TIG root and hot pass, with either MMA (low hydrogen) fill and cap or TIG cap, depending on WPS.
Duties:
- Welding small bore (<2″) and large bore (up to 32″) heavy wall pipework
- Fabrication, welding and modification of commercial and process pipework
- Installation and modification of commercial and industrial pipeline systems
- Working to tight tolerances and radiographic standards
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Mentoring junior team members where required
Skills:
- Time served Pipe Welder
- Fully conversant with TIG and MMA (low hydrogen), with MIG experience advantageous
- Experience welding wall thicknesses from 1mm to 32mm
- Familiar with welds subject to NDT and destructive testing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Strong understanding of health & safety requirements, including fume control
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proof of relevant coding’s (current or expired)
- Apprentice trained to Level 2 or Level 3 diploma in welding / fabrication
- CCNSE Safety Passport
- Forklift truck licence (advantageous)
