<p>As a System Design Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in working alongside engineering and project teams to produce electrical and mechanical drawings.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Design and develop electrical systems and assemblies for specialist communications and electronic equipment.</li>
<li>Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings in accordance with relevant engineering standards.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain engineering designs using BS 8888:2017 and applicable industry standards.</li>
<li>Create and manage STEP files and 3D CAD data to support mechanical and electrical system integration.</li>
<li>Consider EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements throughout the design process, ensuring systems meet relevant standards and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Apply knowledge of Low Voltage Directive (LVD) requirements to electrical system and equipment design.</li>
<li>Work closely with mechanical, electronics, systems and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and suitable for production.</li>
<li>Carry out design reviews, technical assessments and design verification activities, identifying and resolving issues before manufacture.</li>
<li>Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, specifications and bills of materials.</li>
<li>Support the build, testing, commissioning and installation of systems, providing engineering support and resolving technical issues.</li>
<li>Liaise with suppliers and customers where required to understand technical requirements and develop appropriate engineering solutions.</li>
<li>Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A minimum qualification HND/HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent, along with proven knowledge of and adherence to EU directives electrical safety and compliance.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of five years of experience in electrical / systems design desirable.</li>
<li>Experience in electrical engineering regulatory environment for electrical installations including BS7671 wiring regulations (18th edition) and the Electricity at Work Act is advantageous.</li>
<li>Proficient in the use of recognised drawing standards, including Knowledge of BS8888 2017.</li>
<li>Familiarity with relevant technical standards is required for both EMC and LVD.</li>
<li>Ability to develop design concepts from first principles with proven engineering design skills and strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques and material properties..</li>
<li>Knowledge of electrical enclosure (control panels and 19” racks) manufacturing techniques.</li>
<li>Ability to produce high quality drawings (2D and 3D) using a CAD tool of choice (candidate can assist in the process of deciding the software The Business should adopt) to ISO standards.</li>
<li>Production of STEP files for transfer to customer/clients as required.</li>
<li>Ability to take a rough mechanical design and turn into a refined drawing outputs.</li>
<li>Ability to produce Visio drawings as required to assist with other company needs.</li>
<li>Experienced user of a CAD package such as AutoCAD. Ideally experience of an Electrical CAD package e.g. SEE Electrical / ETAP.</li>
<li>Minimum four years’ experience in production of electronic and mechanical drawings at a significant quantity.</li>
<li>Ability to work hard, show tenacity, proactively work on own initiative, solve problems using own judgement, meet tight deadlines and balance priorities to achieve results.</li>
<li>Must hold, or have the ability to achieve SC Security Clearance.</li>
<li>Experienced in standard office applications.</li>
<li>The ability to produce a high standard of work which meets or exceeds customer’s requirements.</li>
<li>Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an advantage, but not essential.</li>
<li>Can do/problem solving mentality.</li>
<li>Significant judgement is required to manage the internal cross-boundary relationships to ensure positive outcomes achieved.</li>

<li>Upon return to the warehouse, you designated vehicle must be emptied of pallets and crates, washed externally &amp; internally to the rear cab wiped and cleaned.</li>
<li>The vehicle must be refuelled upon return ready for the next morning.</li>
<li>The Office/Transport manager will carry out a debrief where your completed manifest will be returned and any issues raised.</li>
<li>Ad-hoc warehouse duties and carry out redeliveries as required.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Conduct operations in a manner that complies with company safety procedures.</li>

<p>· Proven experience as a CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator.</p>
<p>· Strong working knowledge of Heidenhain CNC control systems.</p>
<p>· Experience operating vertical milling machines.</p>
<p>· Ability to program at the machine.</p>
<p>· Experience machining exotic or hard-to-machine materials such as Inconel or Nitronic.</p>
<p>· Confident in fixture setup, tooling selection, and work offset setting.</p>
<p>· Strong understanding of cutting tools and advanced machining practices.</p>
<p>· Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.</p>
<p>· Experience with one-off, prototype, or small batch production.</p>
<p>· Background in precision or high-integrity industries (aerospace, oil &amp; gas, medical, motorsport).</p>
<p>· Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing techniques.</p>
